  • 2nd October 2024

Christie & Co has announced the sale of Deer Park Care Home in Holsworthy, Devon,

Situated along Rydon Road, the former care home, which previously traded for many years, offered care for the elderly with a CQC registration for up to 56 residents.

The home has been purchased by Camelot Care, a family-run business with 25 years of experience, which is renowned for its high-quality, person-centred care.

The company has a proven track record of transforming former care homes and turnaround opportunities into well-run, homely environments.

A spokesperson from Camelot Care said: “We are excited to add this sizeable home to our portfolio and look forward to providing a new home with high-quality dementia care for the residents of Holsworthy and district.”

The new owner plans to undertake a period of refurbishment before reopening Deer Park as a care home.

This initiative is set to bring significant benefits to the local community, providing top-quality care to the elderly.

Eve Apperley, business agent at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “We received significant interest in the home. However, the seller was very specific in her wish to see it reopen as a care home.

“With this in mind, we ensured we found a reputable operator experienced in these types of transactions.

“This acquisition represents an excellent opportunity for Camelot Care to expand its portfolio with a purpose-built care home.”
