Guernsey care home on the market for £5.25m
Chateau des Tielles Nursing & Residential Home in the parish of Torteval, Guernsey, is on the market for a guide price of £5.25m.
Chateau des Tielles is a well-established home registered for 26 service users and occupies a three-storey property with 16 single and five twin ensuite bedrooms, a large ground floor lounge, conservatory and dining room, and a self-contained owner’s/manager’s flat on the second floor.
The home sits on a 1.24-acre plot with a landscaped lawned garden to the rear and side and a large car park to the front.
From certain areas of the garden, the sea can be seen over picturesque countryside.
It is located in the semi-rural parish of Torteval about 10km from St Peter Port, the capital and main port in Guernsey.
Having previously been used as a farmhouse, hotel, and residential care home, the property was bought by its current owners, the directors at Chateau des Tielles, 20 years ago and, following a full refurbishment of the property, it was converted to the provision of nursing care in 2004.
There is a full-time manager and a complement of both full and part-time staff.
Peter Adam, sirector at Chateau des Tielles, said: “Having owned and operated the business for over 20 years, we have decided to sell to retire.
“We intend to sell the business as a trading nursing home so our residents can continue to stay in the home and to maintain staff jobs.
“Chateau des Tielles is a lovely care home and one that is very close to our hearts and it is important for us that we find a buyer who will continue to invest in the business and provide a high level of care to the residents whose home it is.”
Charles Phillips, director of care at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, added: “This is a very-well-run business and in a strong trading position.
“Located close to the airport, and not far from St Peter Port, the home is easily accessible for staff and residents’ families.
“The business is offered for sale in good order throughout and subject to all necessary permissions there could be potential for further expansion.”
