Planning permission granted for care home on land in Crawley, West Sussex

Muller Property Group’s planning application for a new care home on land off Balcombe Road to the North East of Crawley has been allowed on appeal by Crawley Borough Council

Muller Property Group has received outline planning approval from Crawley Borough Council to demolish an existing residential dwelling and outbuildings to redevelop the site into a state-of-the-art care home.

The new facility will accommodate up to 64 residents, offering en-suite wetroom facilities, car parking, and landscaped gardens.

The care home is strategically situated in the North East of Crawley, South East of Gatwick Airport, and nestled between the M23 motorway and railway line.

The new facility will offer a range of premium amenities designed to enhance the quality of life for the residents and support the local community, including:

  • 64 additional bedrooms to help meet the local authority’s housing targets
  • Community impact: By moving into the care home, residents will free up larger homes in the area for local families
  • Quality living: Purpose-built accommodation will significantly improve residents’ wellbeing and continuing care
  • Employment opportunities: The facility will create a variety of new jobs, primarily for local residents
  • Sustainability: The building will adhere to high sustainability standards, promoting energy-efficient living

Residents will also have access to amenities including a café, hair and beauty salon, multiple communal lounges and dining rooms on each floor, activity and therapy rooms, private dining areas, winter gardens, a cinema, and private secure garden areas with a central courtyard garden.

The design aims to minimise the impact on surrounding properties while creating a bright, modern, and inviting environment for residents.

And the thoughtful layout ensures privacy, comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere for future residents.
