Norwood House, a 59-bedroom specialist dementia care home in Saxmundham, East Suffolk, has been sold to family-run regional group, Holmwood House Holdings Ltd.

The home, which originated as a farmhouse, is now a predominantly-purpose-built residential care home registered for 71 residents.

It is set on a four-acre site near the market town of Saxmundham and benefits from planning permission for 14 sheltered/extra-care dwellings, alongside significant high-quality resident facilities.

Owned by Gareth and Enid Nixon-Moss since 2003, Norwood House was brought to market to allow them to retire.

Following a confidential sales process through Joanne Mathers at Christie & Co, it has been sold to Holmwood House Holdings Ltd, an expanding, family-run regional group led by brothers Dr Asif Raja and Mr Farooq Raja.

The new owners have 30 years of experience successfully operating care homes across East Anglia and are looking to acquire additional opportunities in the region.

Norwood House was sold for an undisclosed price.
