Christie & Co has announced the sale of Holywell Nursing Home in Brent Knoll, Somerset.

An established care home registered for 30 residents; the home occupies a 28-bedroom period property in a prominent position in the Somerset village of Brent Knoll, close to Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare.

It has been owned by a sole provider for more than 30 years, during which time she has made significant improvements to the building.

She recently decided to sell to pursue her retirement.

Following a confidential sales process with Simon Harvey at Christie & Co, the home has been sold to established operator, Holywell Care, which owns another care home in South Wales.

Harvey said: “I am delighted to have assisted the new owners in making their second acquisition, having been involved in their first purchase almost 10 years ago.

“It is great to see operators like them looking to expand and take on a home like Holywell, where the previous owner and her team have worked so hard to build such a strong reputation.

“This sale is continuing evidence of the strong demand that exists across the South West for a wide range of care homes and we are seeing this replicated with almost everything we are being instructed to sell.

“This activity suggests that the remainder of 2025 and beyond looks positive.”

Holywell Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
