The surgery is the largest in North West London

Developer, Quintain, has announced the opening of new GP ‘super surgery’ at Wembley Park, the largest doctor’s surgery in North West London.

Quintain, the developer behind Wembley Park, has unveiled the clinic on the ground floor of its ‘Repton Gardens’ residential development as part of an agreement with Brent Council.

The surgery will significantly increase patient capacity in the area, providing a new space for 14 GP staff able to serve 25,000 local residents.

At just under 11,000sq ft, the surgery is operated by the relocated Wembley Park Medical Centre and is the largest NHS GP surgeries in North West London, serving up to 25,000 patients.

The new space, which has tripled in size compared to the previous premises, has created state-of-the-art general practice medical facilities, including two clinical suites, 14 consult exam rooms, four treatment rooms, and an e-consult room. In addition, the surgery is now able to carry out minor surgery and respiratory testing – services which were not possible at the previous site.

And the building has been designed with a double-height reception and waiting area into the ground floor of the Repton Gardens residential development at the heart of Wembley Park.

Dr Sachin P Patel, GP partner at Wembley Park Medical Centre, said: “I have been a GP at the surgery for 11 years and I’m thrilled for the opening of the new space, which now allows us to serve a larger proportion of the community.

“Our new premises will continue to have that familiar and family-like approach which it has had since the practice began in 1970.

“This new purpose-built facility is fit for modern care and treatment, with state-of-the-art primary care facilities and services as well as an increase in staff.

“This is not only going to hugely benefit the local community, but also our staff, who have been working in cramped conditions for many years.”

The opening of the surgery is a significant milestone in the delivery of the Wembley Park masterplan, which has been designed from the start to provide all the community facilities everyone needs within easy reach.

The surgery was delivered by Quintain as part of the Repton Gardens development, designed by architects, The Manser Practice, a team with award-winning experience in the healthcare sector.

James Saunders, chief executive of Quintain, said: “This new GP surgery will increase high-quality healthcare provision in the borough of Brent for residents new and old in a purpose-built facility.

“From its inception, our masterplan at Wembley Park sought to provide everything local residents need to live healthy, happy lives in their neighbourhood.

“We believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental aspect of a thriving community, and we are proud to support the provision of these essential services.”

The practice joins the growing number of fitness and healthcare amenities within the area, such as independent yoga studio, More Yoga; bike specialists, Fix Your Cycle; and Specsavers.
