Constantia Healthcare refinances its portfolio to facilitate growth plan
Yorkshire-headquartered residential and nursing care home provider, Constantia Healthcare, has completed a large refinancing to facilitate future growth and acquisitions, with the support of national law firm, Clarion.
Constantia, which operates nine care homes across the North, provides long-term, short-term, and respite care, as well as specialist care for people with complex needs.
The banking and finance team at Clarion advised the business on a refinance and acquisition facility to allow Constantia Healthcare to continue with its expansion plans.
The care home provider has completed eight acquisitions since 2018, all advised by Clarion.
The most-recent purchase was The Millings Residential Care home in Bedale, North Yorkshire, in 2024.
Anthony Massouras, chairman of Constantia, said: “This refinancing will support the continued expansion of our business.
“The milestone couldn’t have been achieved without the support and expertise of Clarion, which has been a trusted partner to us on our acquisition journey.
“Clarion’s guidance has been crucial in successfully integrating eight care homes into our portfolio and we look forward to working with the team to expand our business further over the coming years.”
A Clarion team led by Ben Slack, Avril Higginbottom, and Ashleigh James (banking and finance), together with Gina Rhodes (real estate), Tony Berry, and Amy Buttrick (corporate), acted for Constantia.
Higginbottom said: “This refinancing was a cross-department effort from Clarion, with experts from across our banking and finance, corporate, and real estate teams, working together to deliver the best outcome for the client.
Slack added: “It’s been great to witness and support the growth of Constantia over the years, and its ambition is evident through its impressive acquisition strategy.”
The funding package was provided by Barclays Bank plc.
