Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, announces sale of four care homes in Ayrshire, Scotland

The four care homes cater for a mix of elderly, specialist, and mental health needs

Christie & Co has announced the sale of four care homes in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Heathfield House Care Home, Wallacetown Gardens Care Centre, and Whiteford House are located on the Heathfield Industrial Estate, while Atlantic View Care Home is in Yeomanry Place.

All cater for a mix of elderly, specialist, and mental health needs, and comprise a total of 189 beds.

The care group was founded with the opening of Heathfield in 2011 providing 88 beds for nursing and dementia.

And, in November 2017, it opened Wallacetown Gardens adjacent to Heathfield.

The home comprises 20 bedrooms over two floors and will cater for people aged 18-65 years who have various life-limiting conditions, including Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, long-term mental health issues, and acquired brain injuries.

In 2022, the group completed Atlantic View, a new state-of-the-art 50-bed care home with a front-row seat overlooking the Firth of Clyde.

Due to the success and demand for more places in Wallacetown, the group recently completed a complex care unit, Whiteford House, next to Wallacetown Gardens to provide an additional 31 beds.

However, the group’s owners recently decided to sell to allow them to pursue a well-earned retirement and, following a confidential sales process with Martin Daw and Edgar Dingle from Christie & Co, the homes have been sold to Enhance Healthcare, a Scottish-based care operator established in 2012.

The group now owns 12 care homes and the recent addition of the above group makes it Scotland’s largest specialist care provider.

Andy Jamieson, managing director at Enhance Healthcare, said: “Our aim is to provide person-centred care in a home-from-home environment, supporting each service user to maximise their independence and wellbeing.

“The acquisition of these Ayrshire care homes is a significant milestone for the group, both broadening our reach and enhancing our capabilities to deliver high-quality care for the communities which we serve.”

Daw added: “This was an exciting project to work on given the variety of specialist care this group provided across the two operating homes and the two new turnkey projects which offer huge potential to a new provider.

“We look forward to seeing the growth of the new homes under the care of Enhance Healthcare.”

The four homes were sold for an undisclosed price.
