Christie & Co has completed the sale of The Old Vicarage care home near Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

The home is a 52-bedroom, purpose-built facility with additional space in the original Old Vicarage property.

It offers residential and dementia care and sits on a 3.95-acre plot in the village of Moulsford.

The home provides bedrooms, lounges, dining rooms, and activity rooms and has its own chapel.

Outside, the gardens are lawned and extensive.

Previously owned by Friends of the Elderly, it has been sold to Hanning Homes, marking the company’s first step into the care sector.

The home attracted strong interest from a wide range of potential buyers after being brought to market by Charles Phillips at Christie & Co.

Friends of the Elderly chose Hanning Homes as the buyer due to its close alignment of values and commitment to quality care.

Charlie Vaughan-Lee, chief executive at Hanning Homes, said: “I am delighted to have purchased such a lovely home and would like to thank Friends of the Elderly for helping me start my journey into the care sector.

“I am looking forward to building on the home’s strong local reputation and working with the staff and residents to enrich the lives of everyone at the home.”

The Old Vicarage was sold for an undisclosed price.
