Exemplar Health Care, a provider of nursing care for adults with complex needs, has opened two new units at its Potters Green care home in Kilnhurst, South Yorkshire, which it opened in August 2023.

Potters Green supports adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities, including Huntington’s disease, providing long-term community care for adults who would otherwise have a prolonged stay in hospital or other inappropriate setting.

The home originally opened with 20 bedrooms with ensuite wetrooms, split across two small units.

It has since been extended, with the new units providing a further 18 beds.

Potters Green also features communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, therapy room, multifaith room, beauty salon, and a large garden.

Kim Payne, home manager at Potters Green, said: “I’m excited to be opening these new units and to play a part in expanding Exemplar Health Care’s valuable impact into a new community.

“Our hardworking team is devoted to fostering an atmosphere that is welcoming, inclusive, and focused on improving each and every day for the individuals we assist.”

Lindsay Morris, regional director of operations at Exemplar Health Care, adds: “Our newest units are a testament to our dedication to offering excellent nursing care to adults with complex needs.

“The home makes it possible for people from the region who require complex care to live closer to their friends, family, and community.”

Having opened 15 homes between 2023-2024, Exemplar Health Care now employs more than 5,500 people, and supports more than 1,000 individuals.
