Falkirk’s only pharmacy sold to established Scottish group

Slamannan Village Pharmacy near Falkirk, Stirlingshire, has been sold to Right Medicine Pharmacy Group, which now owns a total of 43 branches across Scotland.

Slamannan Village Pharmacy, which dispenses an average of 6,200 items per month, benefits from a modern fit-out with a spacious dispensary area and two consultation rooms.

It sits completely unopposed in the heart of Slamannan village, where it has served the local community for the last 31 years and is heavily relied on by locals sourcing their prescriptions from the village’s sole GP surgery.

It was previously owned by founder, Ray Mackie, who recently decided to sell the business to retire.

Following a confidential sales process with Karl Clezy at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by the Right Medicine Pharmacy Group.

Mike Embrey, company director, said: “Having known Ray for some time, we were already aware of what a great pharmacy he ran and how much he and his team were valued by patients.

“We now hope to continue to look after Ray’s pharmacy, team, and patients long into the future.”

Clezy adds: “We agreed this sale within the first couple of days of being instructed by Ray.

“The level of prescriptions dispensed and the pharmacy’s location were a good fit for the buyer and they completed the sale within three months, which demonstrates the appetite out there for established community pharmacies across Scotland.”

Slamannan Village Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.

Legal advice for the seller was provided by Orme Law.
