Christie & Co has completed the sale of a portfolio of four care homes in southern Hampshire.

The portfolio comprises New Forest Nursing Home in the heart of the New Forest, which is registered for 48; Cedar Lawn Nursing Home in Romsey, which is registered for 30; Dunwood Manor near Romsey, which is registered for 55; and the 26-bed Waverley Lodge on the same plot as Dunwood Manor.

The homes were previously managed by Allegra Care, which recently took the strategic decision to sell to focus more on purpose-built homes that it felt could provide better accommodation and care for their residents.

Allegra remains committed to providing quality care in Hampshire and elsewhere, which is demonstrated by the fact that it retained one of its purpose-built homes in the county.

Following a confidential sales process with Charles Phillips at Christie & Co, where multiple offers were received, the homes have been sold to existing care home operators: New Forest to Dalton Care Group, Cedar Lawn to Inspiricare Group, and Dunwood Manor and Waverley Lodge to Ikshana Management Company.

Helen Jones, chief executive of Allegra Care, said: “We are delighted to have found buyers for our Hampshire homes.

“We have worked hard to ensure the homes were sold to suitable owners who will continue to look after the residents and continue the work we have done in the homes.”

Dr Alan Jumaily, director at Inspiricare Group, added: “The Inspiricare Group has continued to build on the exemplary standards of care set by Allegra, and the home is an exceptional asset to the community.”

And Ramesh Dalton, chief executive of Dalton Care Group, said: “New Forest NH is an ideal purchase for me as it has so many synergies with one of my other care homes located nearby in the New Forest, Colbury House NH.

“This is a lovely care home located in a beautiful setting, which provides high-quality care and I am looking forward to getting to know the residents and staff.”

Speaking about its purchases of Dunwood Manor and Waverley Lodge nursing homes, Dr Pramod Prabhkaran, director of Ikshana Management Company said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase of Dunwood Manor and Waverley Lodge and are excited about the journey ahead.

“As owners, we have a strong medical/healthcare background and hope that this will assist us in supporting the staff to continue their great work, which will benefit our residents and their families.”

The homes were sold for undisclosed prices.
