Muller Property Group unveils revised plans for Nantwich development
Muller Property Group has submitted a revised planning application for the second phase of its mixed-use development at Maylands Park, Nantwich.
The new proposals follow an extensive period of public consultation with local residents, councillors and the local MP, Stapeley Parish Council, and other stakeholders, and reflect significant community
feedback.
Phase Two, which received detailed planning approval in February, has undergone a re-evaluation based on input from the local community, addressing key concerns related to vehicle movements, pollution, and the integration of employment uses with nearby residential areas and public spaces.
The revised scheme, designed to balance residential needs with community spaces, now includes a mix of residential, retirement, and a care home, alongside public open space and green infrastructure.
The residential development will provide 40 new homes. Notably, 30% of these homes will be designated as affordable housing, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom family homes.
The plans also include a retirement living community that will offer 49 bedrooms and help address the growing demand for retirement living accommodation in the area.
In addition, a care home consisting of 80 beds and extending up to three storeys will help meet the needs of the local aging population.
A significant new feature of the proposal is the public open space, covering 1.5 acres.
This green area, not included in the previously-approved employment scheme, will provide valuable recreational space for both current and future residents.
The development will also incorporate green infrastructure and ecological areas designed to preserve and enhance the local biodiversity of the site.
Finally, the proposal includes improved access for both vehicles and pedestrians.
The development partners for the site are Anwyl Homes, which will deliver the residential buildings, and McCarthy Stone, which will develop and manage the retirement community should the site be
granted planning approval.
Steve Bourne, technical director at Muller Property Group, said: “Our revised plans for Maylands Park reflect our commitment to listening to local concerns and delivering a development that provides lasting benefits to the Nantwich community.
“We are proud to offer a mixed-use development that not only provides housing, retirement, and care, but also prioritises public open space and green infrastructure.”
