Revealed: successful applications for NHS estates safety funding
A full list of the hospitals which will benefit from a £750m government moneypot for estates improvements has been published.
The spreadsheet reveals 173 funding packages for a range of remedial works at acute healthcare facilities across the country.
The money is part of the Government’s mission to fix the dire state of public service infrastructure and deliver investment and reform through its Plan for Change.
It will help people benefit from better services and facilities across the health system.
Among those to benefit is The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, which will receive £6.1m to carry out fire safety works and improvements to internal building fabric and fixtures at Rotherham District General Hospital.
Fire safety works feature in many of the successful applications, with Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust also receiving £8.7m to upgrade fire systems, as well as improving energy systems, electrical systems, external building fabric and water systems, together with roof and drainage works at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s Hospital.
And Whittington Health NHS Trust will receive £7.6m for fire safety improvements at The Whittington Hospital.
Other recipients include Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which will spend its £9.7m grant on improvements to water systems, internal and external building fabric and fixtures, and fire safety works at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital; while Suffolk and North East Essex will get £2.2m for roof works at ambulance stations in Luton, Harlow, March, and Cambridge.
