The Willows and Biggin Hill clinics receive improvements

  • 26th April 2024

NHS Property Services (NHSPS) has collaborated with NHS South East London ICB and Bromley Healthcare CIC to deliver upgrades at The Willows Clinic and Biggin Hill Clinic in Bromley.

The renovations are aimed at increasing safety, security, and compliance, as well as enhancing the patient experience.

The initiative is a result of the collaboration between NHSPS, South East London ICB, and Bromley Healthcare CIC.

The delivery phase commenced in 2022, following a competitive tender process during which NHSPS hired contractor, Aspect Construction, (Willows); and Burren and Whitaker (Biggin Hill).

Key benefits of the improvements at Biggin Hill included the replacement of windows and wooden cladding with UPC cladding to enhance durability as well as new flooring installed in WCs and the clinic room.

The entire facility also had LED lighting throughout, as well as a new kitchenette and redecoration.

At The Willows Clinic, renovations primarily focused on redecoration across the entire site and the replacement of a section of the flat roof above the reception area.

A full rewire of the site also took place along with additional measures such as installing a fire-resistant enclosure around the boiler in the medical storage room.

Moreover, the integration of LED lighting on site was part of the comprehensive upgrades.

Belinda Cameron, senior capital manager ay NHSPS, said: “We are delighted that The Willows and Biggins Hill clinics are now ready after undergoing needed improvements.

“These facilities, which have been playing a vital role in the local community, are now even more prepared to provide essential healthcare to residents.”

Lucy Hindell, associate director of business development at the South East London ICB, added: “Our investment in the building improvements at both The Willows and Biggin Hill Clinics demonstrates our commitment to ensuring local people and communities have access to services housed in high-quality, accessible and sustainable facilities.

“We are delighted to see these improvements are positively impacting the experiences of both patients and staff within the clinics, providing environments conducive to exceptional care and service delivery.”
